Description

Human Made Henley White Neck Shirt

I work at Human Made. We’ve been making clothes in Tokyo since 2016. Nigo started the brand and the rule hasn’t changed — make it properly or don’t make it.

This is the Henley White Neck Shirt. Here’s what you need to know before you buy it.

What you’re getting

Cotton thermal fabric. Textured. Run your hand over it and you’ll feel the grain, not a flat smooth surface like a basic tee. Three buttons at the neck, same white as the body. Small Heart Logo embroidered on the chest. Nothing else.

White is the hardest color we sell. I’ll be honest about that. It shows everything — sweat, spills, deodorant marks, the works. But it also looks cleaner than anything else in the lineup when you take care of it. And it goes with literally everything you own.

Fit is standard. Not slim, not boxy. If you wear a medium in our Human Made T shirt, get a medium here.

How to wear it

White henley, blue jeans, done. That’s the whole outfit. Add white sneakers and you’re set.

For something a bit different — olive chinos, brown boots, sleeves pushed up a little. Works in fall.

Button two, leave the top one open. All three buttoned looks stiff. All three open looks sloppy.

Cold day? Human Made jacket over the top. The white collar shows against a darker jacket and it looks intentional. A Human Made hoodie underneath also works — the henley neckline sits above the hoodie collar and gives you some depth without bulk.

The 6PANEL LINEN CAP Black goes well with this. Black cap against white shirt is a clean contrast.

If you’re into collabs, the CPFM We’re Good! Cherry Hoodie is a different look but the same crowd tends to pick up both. Streetwear people know.

Washing white cotton (this matters more than anything else)

White cotton punishes laziness. Follow these or the shirt will look old in two months.

Before washing — turn it inside out. Button all three buttons. This stops the placket from twisting and the neckline from stretching.

Water — cold. Always cold. Warm water sets stains and dulls white over time.

Detergent — mild. No bleach unless you’re dealing with a specific stain, and even then, dilute it. Straight bleach on cotton weakens the fibers.

No fabric softener. It coats the thermal texture and flattens it. After three washes you’ll feel the difference and wonder what happened.

Machine or hand — gentle cycle works. Hand wash is better if you care about the shirt lasting years instead of months.

Drying — shade, always. Direct sun on white cotton is fine short-term but over months it yellows the fabric. Air dry flat or hang. If you use a dryer, low heat, pull it out slightly damp.

Ironing — inside out, low heat. Never on the embroidery. Never on the buttons.

Storage — fold it. Don’t hang it. Heavy cotton stretches at the shoulders over time.

One more thing — wash white separately from colors, at least the first few times. Dye transfer is real and it doesn’t come out.

Questions we get

Is white too hard to keep clean?

It’s harder than navy or black. But if you wash cold and dry in shade, it stays white. The people who complain are usually using hot water and a dryer.

Is it see-through?

No. The thermal fabric has weight. It’s not a thin cotton tee.

True to size?

Yes. Same as our other tops.

Can I wear it in summer?

You can. It’s a heavier cotton, so you’ll be warm. Spring and fall are better.

Does it shrink?

Cold wash, no dryer — no. Hot water and a dryer — yes, like any cotton.

What’s different from the yellow one?

Color only. Same shirt, same fit, same fabric.

Where’s it made?

Japan. Everything we make is made in Japan.
