The Gray Human Made Daily Sweatshirt, and Some Notes on Wearing It

So the Daily Sweatshirt. Gray one. Nigo’s brand, Human Made. Started in 2010. The idea was always about making old things new again, not chasing trends. This sweatshirt fits that.

Wearing it

Washing and drying

Official instructions: machine wash cold, no bleach, tumble dry low.

Real talk though. Air dry it if you can. Heat is what kills cotton. The cuffs and collar ribbing go first. Then the body shortens. Then the fit is different and you’re annoyed.

Turn it inside out before it goes in the machine. The date print is heat pressed. Friction wears it down. Inside out helps.

Wash it away from dark stuff. New dark jeans will bleed onto gray. Take it out right when the cycle stops. Don’t leave it sitting wet.

Dry flat or on a wide hanger. Keep it out of direct sun. Gray goes pale in sunlight and it’s not a nice fade.

The brand, briefly

Human Made went public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2025. First streetwear brand to do that. Wild when you think about it. A company selling sweatshirts and hats, on an exchange.

They’ve done Pokémon collabs. T-shirts, caps, hoodies. And Nigo and Jun Takahashi from Undercover go back decades. Ura-Harajuku era. That history is in the clothes whether you notice it or not.

Does it shrink?
Cotton shrinks some. Cold wash, no dryer, you’re fine. Hot water and high heat, it’ll shrink more.

Dryer or no dryer?
Label says low heat is okay. I wouldn’t. Air dry keeps the shape and the print intact longer.
